When to Visit Amsterdam
The Amsterdam weather is typical of most European cities with warm summers and cold winters. Temperatures tend to be at their most pleasant between May and September for those who enjoy the warmth, while rainfall is consistently average all year round. The main tourism season begins around the end of May, so those who want to explore the city without the crowds may want to visit just before June or at the beginning of September while the weather is still warm. There are a few dates that can be extremely busy including Queen’s Day at the end of April, while throughout August many bars and restaurants close as Dutch residents take the month off.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the primary airport serving Amsterdam and the country’s largest, situated only 9km from the center of Amsterdam. There are currently direct flights to and from Dubai International Airport with Emirates, KLM and Transavia, while those flying from Abu Dhabi can travel with Etihad Airways and KLM. There are also flights to and from other Middle Eastern countries available which will make for an easy connecting flight from the UAE. Cheap flights to Amsterdam may be more difficult to find during the peak summer months, but you can still get great deals if you book well in advance.
