Great location for exploring Cradle Mountains
All meals we had were good, although No Orange juice at breakfast was a first for us.

Thank you so much for the wonderful 5-star rating and your kind words! I truly appreciate it. I’ll certainly look into the orange issue and believe it may have been a supply-related matter.
Thanks again for your feedback!

Tired, needs up-dating but staff are very friendly, convenient for access to the park
Tavern and restaurant for evening meals was good, we tried both, the service was prompt, although in the tavern queueing at the bar was a bit chaotic.
The staff are all excellent, very friendly and helpful, we have no complaints there but we did have some issues:
Breakfast - this was buffet but it was a bit of a mixed bag, if you came later (9pm) you risked not having much food as they were forgetting to restock, also the hot water for making tea/coffee is in these small jugs which means twisting the cap trying to get hot water out. I gave up and just took the lid off as did others, why don't they have a hot water urn instead? They had them for the milk but not the hot water, so the staff were constantly having to keep an eye on them. First day there they ran out of tea cups they just had saucers, we had to ask for them, they should be regularly replenished. A large bowl of what looked like plain yoghurt was placed directly under the milk urn where everyone leant over to finish making their tea not hygienic! That should have been moved out the way. The toaster was one of those irritating very slow moving grills which meant lots of wasted toast, the dial to change the heat settings had been removed. Also, it was noticeable that the fruit in the bowls was tinned.
Outdoor areas - the cabins could do with some seating area outside, instead there's just scrappy gravel and what look like sacks for the laundry dumped outside each one presumably to save the cleaners having to go backwards and forwards, I understand the reasoning but those bags are unsightly and need to be kept away, they were left outside the whole time we were there. Also they could do with putting fresh tarmac down as it's been worn away and adds to the air of general neglect.
Signage - the various walks you can do around the lodge need a bit of attention, there were warning signs bleached by the sun, you couldn't make out the wording, they need replacing.
Cabins - the lampshade in our room looked like it had been in a war with something and lost, the hairdryer had a big chip in it and the motor sounded as if it was about to explode. We left it out with a note asking for it to be replaced and also told reception, there were chips on the paintwork, especially on the skirting boards and door surrounds. Shower rooms were basic but clean, they are probably at the stage where they could do with being up-dated.
This lodge is obviously popular because it's in the park itself so it's easy to just walk down to the bus which takes you to the various hikes around the lake, you can park directly outside your cabin rather than have to use the general parking area a few km's away which is another plus but if I was to revisit I wouldn't stay here again, I don't know where the profits are going but it's clearly not on the amenities.

It’s also great that the location was convenient for exploring the park, although I can understand your frustration with some of the other aspects. It sounds like there are several areas that could benefit from some attention, from the breakfast service to the maintenance of the outdoor spaces and cabins. I’m sure your comments will help the team make improvements.
It’s always tough when a place you visit doesn’t quite meet expectations, but hopefully, your experience will lead to some positive changes for future guests. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts!

Needs to up it’s game.
The positives first. A wonderful location with lovely local walks. Also some of the staff were charming. We also greatly enjoyed the one experience of the restaurant dining. The food was good and the staff were friendly and attentive.
On the negative side. The breakfasts were poorly run. Some of the hot food items and milk were not replenished quickly, and we had to chase up some cutlery and bowls. Also the bread and toast counter should have been kept more tidy. We made the mistake of eating in the bistro on a busy Saturday evening and spent a good 20 minutes queuing to be served at a bar tended by two staff who were taking both drinks and food orders. One more person just taking drinks orders would have worked better.
When we asked to raise these issues with a manager we were informed that the manager was not in and would not be available until later in the day!! Surely on a busy holiday weekend a senior manager should be onsite through the day and evening to ensure the smooth running of all the services to optimise the guests’ experience.
Our cabin was adequate but a little tired looking.
I am not convinced that the overall experience was worth the money.

I’m truly sorry to hear about your negative experiences in the restaurant. Regarding the bistro and the option for an additional till, we’ve explored this possibility but, unfortunately, it’s not feasible at the moment. However, we’ve introduced table-side ordering via a QR code as an alternative to enhance the experience.
Thank you for your kind words about our restaurant staff—it’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed that aspect of your visit.

Overrated.
Checked in and found the cabin, which was perfectly OK inside, all the usual, bed, settee, dining table, bath, shower, small kitchen (poorly equipped).
To enter the cabin, you had to negotiate a set of stairs, logs, and rocks used to make a path from the car that a mountain goat would struggle with.
Car parking was narrow and small, shared with next door.
The resort is designed to provide tours at cost and relieve you of your cash for the ideal experience!
Breakfast was a free for all, of buffet style with one free coffee. Replenishment of the food was sparse and random. The tables were left uncleared for long periods. The two guys working there (a barista and "floor supervisor") worked had and were cheery. However, every other member of staff were sullen and dull. The hospitality industry is tough, but you get out what you put in. There is dire need here for "smile training" and the presence of an enthusiastic member of management. Positively the most awful customer interaction experience in two months of travelling Australia. Take a look at the way they do things at Port Arthur historic site.

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with the hairdryer and the staff interaction in the tavern. That’s certainly not the experience we want for our guests, and I hope it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of your stay. Your comments about the hairdryer and the staff dynamics have been noted, and we’ll make sure to address them to ensure a more comfortable and pleasant experience for future guests.
We truly appreciate your continued support, and we hope your next stay is even better!
