Incredible Hosting

My first time at the Pullman Ibirapuera. I'm Platinum no All and signing the All Signature - Absolut. I redeemed an All Signature experience in the Execitive by Trousseau suite. I arrived, assistant Victor, welcomed me, led me to the room. The receptionist Beatriz and Paulo, super gentle too. I will definitely come back more often.

Disappointed

There are no irons in the rooms. The one iron in the basement (Level E2) for the guest is on a mini ironing board and on a timer placed in the wall, causing it to shut off after 1 minute and 24 seconds. Meanwhile, the information sheet on the wall (see pix) falsely says the timer shuts off after 3 minutes. The floor was wet from the leaking iron after auto-shutoff, so housekeeping was needed. The information sheet says to dial 9 for assistance, but the phone has been removed from the room. I had to wait 20 minutes for the floor to be mopped, or else my shirt would have rested in the water on the floor while hanging from the ironing board. Also, the shower in my room (680) was lined with mold/mildew. New room (1256) was missing a body towel and a floor towel. The details that are overlooked can be fixed with staff training.
On a positive note, the hotel has a nice location near Ibirapuera Park and it is only a 10 minute (approximately) cab ride to restaurants and shopping. The restaurant food is nice along with the Yucafe coffee bar. The staff provides professional service with a smile, notably; Debora (restaurant host), Ingrid & Danton (bartenders), and Sarah & Liss (Yucafe baristas).

Pullman with Potential

Summary: a Pullman with tonnes of potential, but lacking a bit of polish.
I liked:
The room - the room itself was very nice and modern, with views of the Obelisco de São Paulo in Ibirapuera Park.
Facilities - the hotel common areas were nice and clean. The hotel has a decent gym with older Life Fitness equipment, trainers are friendly and approachable if you need towels or anything else.
Room for improvement:
Check-in - when I arrived there were three staff (two female, one male) behind the desk, the priority check-in line that I intended to use as Accor Gold was ignored and I was greeted by the male staff member wearing a trainee badge. He was very friendly, but was clearly struggling and the two females talked amongst themselves rather than helping him. As a result of this check-in took much longer than it should.
Noise - after getting to my room, I immediately started hearing banging and enquired with staff. They informed me that level two is undergoing renovations and construction noise is 'normal' but would stop at night, there was no advanced notice of ongoing construction on the Accor app or website. It was audible from approximately 8am to 5pm each day. When there was a function in the conference centre on basement level, you could also hear the bass/music from the event in your room, this continued until 9pm.
Service misses - after entering the room for the first time I noticed my bed was made with sheets that were already stained. The Accor Gold welcome amenity was very underwhelming, two chocolate balls and mixed nuts. My room included 'two free cans of water per day' - I consumed these on the first night and they were not replenished for the next two days, only on the last day I was there. I had finished the provided soap and it was never replenished, this hotel doesn't provide other bathroom amenities, the shampoo, conditioner, body wash is all bars of soap. Ironically the L'occatine liquid soap available in the gym showers was nicer than what they provide in the room.
Room design flaws - the TV in the room allows you to cast content from your devices to it, however, the hotel hasn't password protected this function nor have they named the devices like "TV - Room 1501" - as a result of this other guests kept casting their content to my TV. I was woken up on the first night at 11pm as someone cast their Spotify to my TV at full volume. I resolved this by disconnecting my TV from the hotel Wi-Fi in the TV settings, but someone less technical may not know how to do this. Another design oversight is the chair is far too low for the table, so you can't comfortably eat or use your laptop on the provided table, it feels like an adult sitting at a kids table.
Maintenance - in São Paulo it rains a lot and on consecutive days when I went to the gym while it was raining outside, the gym roof was leaking and dripping on to the gym floor - hopefully this is not a sign of a more serious issue. The door to the outside area where the pool/gym is didn't accept my key card on first try and kept jamming. Sink in the bathroom in my room didn't drain properly, water would sit in there for a long time before slowly filtering down.
Conclusion: I am planning to return to São Paulo soon and I would consider this hotel again, if I can be assured the construction is finished, as I found that too disruptive when I was trying to sleep or relax.

An experience beyond expectations!

The service is very welcoming especially the restaurant. The food is very delicious and the breakfast is very healthy. The room is spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent for those who go to Ibirapuera Park. There are several environments to relax.
