Surreal, amazing location, fabulous owner

This is hard to describe!! Such an amazing old chateau and our host Louis was charming. We had drinks in the garden with him and the the other two guests and he cooked us a fantastic meal. We all sat down together and despite our limited French had an awesome evening. Very hard place to find so make sure you get the email instructions. But once there ... what a location! Such an authentic chateau (a little crumbling but in the most charming way).

Well received

The owner is very welcoming and the bedroom and bathroom are spacious. Too bad the obsolescence of the shutters does not allow them to be opened. Breakfast is very good, but don't trust the promise of table d'hôtes because the health of the squire can no longer guarantee it.

No one at home!

Having booked in January for two nights via a website (not tripadvisor) we were looking foreword to some tranquility following the bustle of Normandy’s 75 commemoration of D-day. Having finally found the chateau (thanks to Waze!) the only living thing to greet us was a cat. We googled the phone number and spoke to the host- who said the booking “had been cancelled “ and he was in Lyon, whereupon we left in search of a bed courtesy of Ibis Styles in Segre.
Upon reading a review on Expedia it would appear that our experience is not unique , so perhaps it’s as well not to pay in advance!!

Upon our arrival, the only living thing to greet us was a cat! Upon phoning the host, we were told that he believed the booking “had been cancelled “ and that he was in Lyon . Whereupon we left for Segre and the hospitality of the Ibis Styles . Rather annoying following a longish drive.
