Probably the best house in Chiavenna

All top: Room, cleanliness, location, warm owners, staff. Even after long and exhausting reflection, I cannot think of anything that would result in even a hint of criticism. About the restaurant and the wine list has already been written, very, very good and detailed (wine list). Needs to complain, as the Berliner puts it....

The room is nice, but lacks the basics for a 4-star: parking nearby, beauty kit or at least shower balm, elevator or stroller ramp. Also the breakfast is bad. Not because there is no free buffet for choice, but because they talk on the site about sweets and pastries at KM0 and in reality there were only standard croissants and some bread, as well as a cup (1) of cereal and a jar of yogurt. No cake, no biscuits, no desserts typical of the area. 190€ a night with a Hostel breakfast and a room without the basic amenities... exaggerated!

A lovely experience

It's a lovely experience. I stayed in the Junior Suite which is quite minimalist in designbut very 'cool' and comfortable and well designed with lots of space and light. The owner is very attentive and charming and there is a lovely restaurant also used for a delicious breakfast with home made products - you look out to a garden and the rock with the castle on and surrounding mountains. The Villa is very close to the station with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants a short walk - and Chiavenna is a slow paced but delightful town to use as a touring base - good both for the Engadin and Lake Como. Thank you so much to Villa Giade for making such a good visit.
