Noise-Pollution-Dilapidated... once not twice
Rooms very dated, charmless, large but cold, not on the 4* level a bedding not comfortable, a bathroom from another era.
Breakfast that has nothing to do with that of the photos of the hotel, very reduced not many fresh products in a fairly tristounette atmosphere in a room overlooking terraces forbidden access maybe because of their condition because the structure requires work. Parking next door for an additional fee between 15 € and 20 € per day.
For over 100€ per night we were disappointed by this hotel.

Day 2
We got up to go for breakfast. Personally I like a cooked breakfast so I opened the one small cooked breakfast tin and I was horrified by what they expected people to eat, there was something that I believe they were serving as "bacon" (please see the picture) it was in a cold slimy white liquid and there was very little red meat in there, it was all fat. Next to that was some tiny sausage looking things that looked like they'd been there for months, the next was some yellow liquid that I believe they were calling "scrambled eggs" I watched someone attempting to put it on his plate, it poured aff the ladle with a consistency of porridge. This food wasn't fit to eat, it was cold and it looked vile. So I thought I'd have a slice of toast (all hotels do toast, right?) wrong! No toaster and no bread. There was absolutely nothing on that table that I would consider as a suitable breakfast. My wife tried one of the sweets and a cup of tea, she said it wasn't very nice but better than the nothing I had.
Day 3
Breakfast was exactly the same, in fact I would put money on it, it was exactly the same bacon and little sausage that I saw the day before because nobody ate it and it looked equally as vile. The yellow stuff (scrambled egg?) did look slightly less watery. This was when I took the pictures. I also took the pictures around the hotel of the crumbling plaster and very dangerous roof top terrace, that was partly blocked off by red and white tape. I contacted TUI to complain and TUI asked me to choose 3 hotels from a link they sent me and they would try to get me moved (at my expense!) I picked 3 hotels with the same 4 star rating only to be told they weren't contracted to TUI so they couldn't get me moved. I complained again and said if you can't move us, get us home because I simply couldn't say in this derelict slum any longer. I was asked to pick 3 different hotels, which I did and I was given the same excuse for not being allowed to move. I was also told that TUI couldn't get us home until our leaving date of the 11th. So we were stuck in this slum of a hotel. Eventually we found on an internet search, a cafe called Birdy's that offered a decent breakfast. Unfortunately it was a 55 minute walk from the hotel but at least we could eat a decent breakfast.
Day 4
It rained late evening. Not just outside but in our room aswell! We had water literally pouring down the walls from the high windows in both the bedroom and the bathroom (both widows were closed because we couldn't reach to open them) a large puddle was forming and rapidly approaching our bed so we had to get up and get dressed. I went to reception to report it and was given a key to another room 108 on the first floor, so late at night we had to pack our cases and change rooms onto the first floor.
This room was about half the size but no better in quality it still smells of damp, the shower was filthy and covered in black mould. In room 108 there was absolutely no WiFi internet connection. This is something we rely on when away from home, it essential we can keep in contact with home for personal reasons. To be honest room 207 had a very weak connection that disconnected every 10 minutes but we could just about cope. Room 108 had zero connection. We stayed in 108 for that night and the following evening I spoke to reception regarding the WiFi and was told it doesn't work in 108 and he gave us the key to yet another room 308 on the third floor and assured us we'd get a connection there. So we packed again and got into the lift at reception to go to the 3rd floor. The lift started to go up then suddenly dropped and then came to a sudden stop. We were stuck in a very hot, very small lift with our cases. We pressed the emergency button many times for what seemed like an eternity, eventually I held the button in constantly and by this point we were screaming for help, our spectacles were misted up and the heat made us feel like the place was on fire. It was absolutely terrifying, we were trapped! Eventually we heard a voice shouting "can you hear me?" I shouted back yes but it was like he couldn't hear me as he kept shouting "can you hear me?" Then he said "I'm going to turn the lights off but don't worry" suddenly it was pitch black and my wife grabbed my arm we were terrified. By the time they got us out we were wet though with sweat and could hardly breathe my wife was physically shaking. Now I was at breaking point and I told the guy who rescued us (he was also the receptionist) I'm not happy with this hotel and he'd better get our cases to the third floor as we walked towards the stairs. I'm 61 years old with a heart condition so the last thing I need is 3 fights of stairs with suitcases.
Our third room (308) had a large window we could actually see through although the other side of the window was a fence that had been knocked down and a wall covered in weeds.
Obviously after the lift ordeal we were both in need of a shower, oh dear! The shower cubicle had fallen apart, the doors were literally propped up and of course it was full of black mould. To make matters worse the shower head clamp was missing (see picture) so there was no adjustment for direction of the shower, it just hung at the bottom of the rail pointing at the floor. The bed was definitely sprung but it felt like there was no padding on the springs and every slight moment sounded like metal springs that need oiling.
This is what TUI call a 4 star hotel is it ?
I suggest TUI send someone to stay there without giving the hotel prior notice and see what rating they'd give it, because I honestly think we'd get better accommodation and food in prison than what we've just had to endure for a week.
Since retiring 3 years ago we decided to have as many holidays as possible while we can still do it. We've had a few through TUI and they've been good. We've always got what we paid for and I always thought TUI would look after us in the event of a problem. I must say I now know TUI won't look after their customers when things go wrong. The response I got from TUI was absolutely appalling. I couldn't even get them to help me get home early. I picked 6 hotels off the TUI list and they said I couldn't have any of them because they wasn't contracted to TUI, So why ask me to pick them ? I even asked TUI (twice) to pick one for me but they refused.
Basically it was a case of "tough luck, you're stuck with it and we don't care!"
On the morning of the 11th we were so happy that we were finally getting out of that place and just as I was thinking, nothing else can go wrong we went to check out. This was when we were told we would have to pay €65 to check out. We asked why but the lady on reception couldn't speak English. We got the Idea she was saying it was some sort of tax and as such we had to pay it. I wasn't made aware of this when I made the booking, if it was in the print I must have missed it.
I paid £1,490 for this holiday and spent most of the time there trying to escape this horrendous hotel by conversing with TUI on the messaging system. I would have paid the same amount again to get us home because it was so bad. TUI had the audacity to offer me a total of £200 of our next holiday. I politely declined the offer but I wasn't really feeling like being polite as I was so angry at the way TUI abandoned us in such a horrible building.
