Great experience

This is a lovely traditional ryoken, creaking wood adds to the experience. This is situated next to a river so a river view room is a must. Leave your shoes at the door and throw yourself fully into this experience. The room was a great size and everything you need is either on hand or a quick request. Upon check-in, you are assigned your own staff member who takes you to your room, explains everything, sets out your meals and gets you anything you need. We arrived after tea so did not get to experience this. When you check in, you are asked to fill in a short questionnaire so that your stay is tailored to you. Yukatas are provided in your room along with toilet bags and face cloths. Your futon is organised for you at an agreed time. Bathrooms are shared but this did not prove any sort of issue at all. Shared or private onset are available which was great to be able to experience. Small gardens are dotted throughout the house in addition to the lovely river view. At an agreed time, breakfast is brought to your room and served for you, this was lovely. The staff here are exemplary and cannot do enough for you. A lovely experience.

Historical and beautiful Royokan

This is a historical and beautiful Royokan. Built in 1890 but well maintained. There is non in-room toilet, but a public one is nearby. We chose the Sakura room facing the river. It was pleasant to look at the river and listened the water flowing.
The staffs were very friendly.
The dinner and breakfast were delicious.
The private onsen can be booked 50 minutes in the evening and 25 minutes in the morning.
the location is convenient. about 1000 Yen taking a taxi from Hakone-Yumoto station, or 100 Yen with bus.
I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful, historic ryokan. Fascinating architecture. Some parts are quite old and need some upgrade, as you might expect for a historic building. But facilities are clean and immaculate. Onsen experience was memorable.

Staying at Fukuzumiro Ryokan is like stepping back in time. The traditional wooden architecture and serene setting by the river create a peaceful atmosphere. The kaiseki meal was exquisite, and the onsen was wonderfully relaxing. The staff’s hospitality was impeccable—an unforgettable experience in Japan!

We just stayed this week at this hotel and while the experience is curious, the truth is that the photos they publish are not recent.
The wood does not shine at all, the walls are dirty, the floor mats have stains, the boiler is still not working two months after I have read comments of complaint by a user, that is, it needs urgent reform and if the excuse is lack of funds as I read, the price we pay per night is exorbitant.
Dinner was very good, breakfast more or less, sleeps on the floor, there are no bathrooms in the rooms, you have to walk to the station 5 min dragging your bags when there are no taxis...,,very expensive, very expensive for what is.
