Great stay

We had a wonderful stay! We stayed in the adult only building. We liked having a pool and bar close to our room and enjoyed the view being up on the hill.
Room was clean. It is an older resort but we loved the atmosphere and exceeded our expectations for a budget resort
Food was good.
We walked to the 2 other resorts and enjoyed the walk between them.
The beach was great - warm water and soft sand!
I would like to learn more Spanish before returning, but we managed to get by. All the staff was so friendly

Awesome holiday in paradise

Hi this is our 8th visit since 2008 nice to see a couple of the staff still there buffet was good every night we ate at La baba it was awesome my wife has shell fish allergies no problem the wait staff helped her flora the omlet person was awesome drinks were great always found chairs on the beach they renovated tropical restaurant while we were there the bricks by building 4 pool need to be repaired and at the front door of tropical which was blocked off for safety we had a great time and will return

Beautiful 2 star resort.

Do not go to this resort! IT has a problem with sewer gases in the rooms and the food in this facility is very poor quality and unsafe to eat. Their kitchen has lots of stainless steel but NO proper lighting. If you are English speaking it is very difficult to communicate with most of the staff. There are not many bartenders who can not make proper drinks. We found that the bartenders were mostly untrained and had to resort to a manual to make a custom drink. Even the famous Mexican margarita was not up to par. Being that this resort was on the coast one would expect great fresh seafood dishes. NOT! We were very very disappointed and have notified the owners but they have refused to even respond to our concerns. This has been a lesson learned and a lot of dollars spent for nothing but sickness and despair. Save yourself some money and stay healthy on your travels and do not even consider this place. One positive note is that the people who work there are very polite but have their hands tied we think as their boss hasn't trained them properly.

Happy!

Happy and colorful place. Long sandy beach for walking, foot soaking. Very friendly staff. Perfect temperature, I love the sea breeze. Pleasing setting. I like the authentic Mexican accents and architecture and landscaping. Food is good and there is enough selection.

The Mexican Experience

We were there from January 21/25 to February 4/25. This is the second time at this resort, the last time was in 2023. The food was better this year. Always fruit at breakfast only, pancakes, french toast, omelet station (FLORA, always singing), mexican dishes and this year BACON! There was always chicken or pork or beef or fish served, usually 2 of each.
Yes, the building is older but it has a Mexican feel! My home also needs work!
People that we met from the Corral wanted to be in the Los Cocos.!
At the Marina, which is close to the Cocos has great loungers (softer) than the Cocos (hard)! THESE NEED TO BE CHANGED TO SOFT!!
The Marina & Corral are more modern and concrete, We can stay in Canada for that!
We've been to many places in Mexico, but this is the best! The water is usually calm (2 knee replacements), the sand is hard to walk on the beach with no rocks! You can see you feet in the water, no sea weed and not dirty!
Many mexicans come on the weekend form Guadalajara, the beach is full! which is great it's their Country! Guayabitos is mostly full of Canadians and Mexican people! YA!!
We booked our tours with Salvador, Vincent & Stephanie at the resort! GuayTours!.
Always at the front desk lobby, Wonderful, Great!!
We ate out many times with friends that stay there for the winter. Always great meals never were sick!
We feel safe and love the Mexican people! At the resort english is spoken however, some servers and housekeeping may be limited, my spanish is not good either!
If your coming to this resort and you want Canadian 4 *, don't book this! If you are an everyday person, YOU WANT THIS RESORT! and experience MEXICO!
Entertainment was great! Much better than most resorts these days!
