Top hotel

Nice and very comfortable hotel! Quiet village on Texel and very friendly reception! Nice spacious room and lovely rain shower! Good beds and delicious and rich breakfast buffet Will definitely be back! Has liked very well

Not what it used to be....

Very nice location with beautiful view and nice outdoor area. Quality of food is definitely good and tasty. Service friendly but they forgot twice to serve additional drinks. Menu limited ; good price for the quality.
If you have been here in the past, there is regretfully no comparison anymore and it is not the place it used to be. Still nice place tor easy going lunch or dinner.

Window blinds of the room were not good enough to put the room dark in the morning

Well, I loved the Hotel de Waal in general, a traditional Dutch House, in the small and beautiful village of De Waal. The breakfast was great, and the service was good, as normal in the Netherlands. I would like to do only a remark related to the fact that the window blinds of the room were not good enough to put the room dark in the morning. Therefore, our kids waked up at 7am, that means 6am for them, because we live in Lisbon. Thus, we were all tired during the day, and when we go to a Hotel is expected to be fresher and not more tired :).

Great

I only stopped here for a coffee and a break as I was walking the nearby Noord-Holland path but I was glad I did. The courtyard area out the front was a very nice place to sit on a sunny day and I was served by a charming young man. I was tempted to try the apple pie also as I saw someone else eating it and I am pleased that I did as it was delicious.
I imagine this hotel would be a lovely place to spend a couple of nights in a lovely quiet village.

Awesome Texel Hotel- Everything you need & More!!!

Our family stayed @ Hotel de Waal for 2 nights and could not have been more pleased!! We had a family suite with 2 rooms and they were PERFECT!! clean, fresh & beachy! The breakfast was great, Bikes for rent on premise and an awesome 'family room' with a self service bar and lots of tables & couches- great area to hang out after a busy day- they also serve food until 10pm. We loved the location of DeWaal as it is right in the middle of the island so a quick drive or bike ride to everything. The owners could not have been more accommodating and the hotel is filled with awesome beach combing finds. Overall a wonderful stay and we will be back!!
