Due to coved19 I needed a place to stay after just sailing across the Atlantic before I fly back to the UK. Hotel said they never got my reservation so was arrested by Portuguese police, NEVER AGAIN will I use hotels/booking.com

BED BUGS: AVOID!

Please avoid this hostel! My partner experienced a serious case of bed bugs here. Instead of helping us, or being slightly concerned about our bodies full of terribly itching bite marks, staff ignorantly laughed at us for "complaining about mosquitoes on an island".
Even with photos of the dead, bloody bugs all over our bed and a demonstration of the endless red spots on our bodies, they did not think it was necessary to disinfect everything. We cancelled our final 2 nights but will probably never see our money.
Worst experience on an otherwise incredibly beautiful island!
