Pleasant

Small and beautiful hotel, reasonable and comfortable rooms, quiet site, breakfast with little variety, no friendly reception guy, but the lady who received us on the 1st day was super attentive. It is right in the centre of Villa do Porto.

A real charm hotel.

Charming blue is a real charm hotel, very welcoming and comfortable.
The location is super central and the staff very friendly and available.
The sea view from the first floor is fantastic and the pool is very nice.
Breakfast is good and varied missing only compotes from the Azores

Good quality accomodation, with friendly staff, but make sure you get a room with a view!

This hotel has been renovated to a high standard. The rooms were clean, a reasonable size and comfortable. The restaurant and breakfast were good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful too. The pool was good too and a quick dip at the end of a hot day out was very pleasant.
The only downside to our stay was we were allocated room 102, which is one of three standard rooms which face onto the road (see the picture), which was noisy at times and certainly did not have a sea/pool/garden view as headlined on the website. (In the small print it says "some" rooms have a view.) So make sure you request a room which does not overlook the road.

Friendly hotel in the centre of Vila do Porto

Small Hotel well located in the center of the village.
Quiet and spacious rooms with comfortable bed.
The less positive notes go to reception service and breakfast (not very professional and not very attentive), little varied breakfast and with sunbeds, bed pillows with ironing fringes (I doubted if they were used), poliban full of limestone on the glasses.
Suggest: put more shaded tables at breakfast.

Nice hotel, moderate breakfast

We arrived late at the hotel and parked our car at the nearby church. The hotel has no real parking but everywhere on the island you can park for free and there is plenty of space. Incidentally, the hotel was painted completely pink and not blue (which caused some confusion). We were pleasantly welcomed in excellent English. It's a very cozy hotel. Our room on the first floor was not very large but we could use a large overflow terrace to which the other rooms on our floor also had access. From the terrace you had a view of the pool. The quality of the mattress was fine and I actually have no complaints about the room. The hotel has a bit of a mansion feel. Breakfast was served downstairs and was of a lower quality than in the hotel we had on the previous island. Moreover, the operation was slow in refilling. Especially the fruit (limited to oranges, kiwi and melon) often ran out. Sweets such as pastel de nata were not served and the coffee was instant coffee. Especially the limited choice and lack of variety bothered us. The hotel also has a restaurant for the evenings (closed on Mondays) In itself a good thing because the eateries in Vila do Porto are not there for the taking (At 400 meters towards the center is "Central Pub", a kind of American pub / eatery where you get the better quality fast food cheaply) In the hotel restaurant you eat more refined but you also pay more than elsewhere. At the pool it is quiet. Sun loungers are always available and the water is clean. In itself it is a pleasant swimming pool. In the evening the bar is also open. However, when my wife wanted to order a cocktail, the girl admitted to the lobby (who was also in charge of the bar) that she had never made a cocktail. However, she did try. My wife's was pretty successful, with me the proportions were all wrong.
