Stay at Halyards Hotel and Spa

Please take care of the infrastructure and check the cockroaches and fumigate the place if it needs be. But we had a great stay, the rooms are big just that everything is old.

Absolute Garbage Hotel - it should be condemned

Where to start. Car park looks like it was bombed by the Germans, potholes and stones everywhere. The reception area has obviously had a lick of paint and gives no clue as to what awaits you when you unfortunately are given your keys. Most of the outside wood is rotten to the core, as is the deck by the bar. Gutters are broken and the aircons have seen better days. The smell in the room was horrible, had to open the balcony door for hours to let some fresh air in. The furniture is out of a museum and all scratched. Bathroom was dirty, water dripped out of the shower which made showering impossible. The TV showed only SABC, hope they have paid the licence fee. The bed was comfy though, at least 1 positive. If you plan on staying here you need your head testing. Keep driving and find somewhere else.

Dissapointed

Hotel is very run down, decks and balastrades dangerous, rooms shabby, food not up to standard, only thing going for it is the position.
Suggests the CEO spends a couple of nights there before it collapses.

Not impressed at all.

We were sent to an unfinished room, the bed was not made and the carpet was wet, aircon in the room was not working,The room reeked of cigarette smoke, even when we left the smell was unbearable, mind you this is the second room we got sent to!Previous guest lost the room key so we got a loose spare which we had to leave at reception when we went out so that our room can be cleaned.
We understand it was a busy season but the cleaners & general workers were nicer to guests than the people at reception,Please do better.

Dilapidated

This is grueling beautiful location but unfortunately the hotel has gone to ruin. Flaking paint, old and dilapidated furniture, rotten Timbers, uncomfortable lumpy bed, old linen… and the list goes on.
