Big rooms , breakfast until 1
Very nice museum, ne-ar to the centre of the city. Big and clean Room with window you can Open . The design of the Room is very nice. Good breakfast until 1 The People are very nice. In the morning is a little bit noise because is a school near and you here the kids.

Dangerous for health to stay
We stayed in upgraded room - luckily we stayed only for 2 nights. Very strong chemical smell in the hall that goes into the rooms made impossible to sleep during the night. We tried to open windows , but windows are secured with rubber band (very strange as it is), so we even could not open it to make the air flow. Terrible design of the bathrooms - it is opened plan - when you take a shower water goes to the floor in the bathroom, but drainage does not work properly, so water just stays on the floor and goes to the hall - that has carpet, so you just can imagine state of the carpets in the rooms. I believe that chemical smell and cleaning chemicals sprays that they use for cleaning are dangerous for the health - bad air flow design makes it impossible to get ventilated. Do not stay in this hotel. Only lobby looks good.

Horrible wi-fi but phenomenal rooftop and spacious room
Excellent city-centre hotel with amazing rooftop, but marred by absolutely horrible Wi-Fi (had to use my phone’s hotspot my entire stay). If you’re looking for a place to simply stay and enjoy the rooftop view, definitely go for it it. But if you need Wi-Fi, avoid at all cost!

The hotel also shows its good side during this visit.
Excellent service and a reasonable room, excellent breakfast and smooth handling at check-in and check-out.
A point deduction is available this time for the room without city view (although booked), a creaking bed and the somewhat fashionable smell in the corridor and room.
Next time please return 5 stars!!

Good hotel but not 4* quality due to service
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during a weekend trip to Bilbao. The reason that we chose this hotel was due to the membership to Marriott Bonvoy program and the central location.
Overall, the hotel was nice and provided the necessary comforts. The location was very central and walkable. The alacarte restaurant provided a friendly service for breakfast. However, we didn't feel that the hotel was giving a strong 4 star hotel feel. The reception staff were very distant and felt unwelcoming. The room technologies are getting outdated (i.e. poor WiFi signal in the room, the TV didn't have any YouTube/Netflix integration working). There was also a mild unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom possibly due to the building drainage being old. The open buffet breakfast was overpriced at 25€ per person. Due to these reasons, we wouldn't be excited to return to this hotel if we were to visit Bilbao again.
Details on some specifics are as follows:
Welcome: We arrived at the hotel around 11 pm. The receptionist was quick and efficient to check us in, however, there was no proper acknowledgement of my Marriott status or any effort to offer a warm welcome. Still, we were given quite a nice and big room on 11th floor and there was a local Caroline dessert with a welcome note in the room (which was a lovely touch).
Room: When we first entered the room, there was a mild unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. Still the room was nicely decorated and quite spacey with a large wardrobe. However, you could see the aging room furnishing on carpets. Similarly, the shower heads were quite old with missing bits. The bed was really large and comfortable which we enjoyed. However, the thick and large pillows are not the best for everyone's preference.
Service: While the room was well equipped with amenities, there was an inconsistency in service. For example, for a room with two people, there was only one bathrobe and one pair of slippers provided. Also, even though, there were tea bags left in the room, there was nothing to boil water with (apart from the Nespresso machine that was pouring a brown water each time we tried to boil water with it). The notes on hand washes saying taking them would cost 45€ were also iterating the unwelcoming nature of the hotel.
Location: The hotel is located very centrally. You can walk pretty much everywhere considering the size of Bilbao. However, if your goal is to hang near the old town, the hotel is 15-20 minutes walk away so you can consider alternative locations.
Food: We had breakfast at the alacarte restaurant on the ground floor on a Sunday morning. While the service was very friendly, the offerings were quite pricey as you would expect. For example, 4.5€ for a cup of tea and a very small omelette for 15€ doesn't sit well with us. The French toasts were quite nice though.
Overall: The hotel had elements of 4 star service but I didn't think it adapted to 2025 well with poor WiFi and TV offerings. Also the service was not friendly and welcoming, which ended us being disappointed with the level of service we were expecting from an Autograph hotel. There are no major problems but I would rather stay somewhere cheaper and more friendly.
