An insider tip in the Asturias hiking area

We have rarely visited such a quality boutique hotel as el gran sueno. A feel-good oasis in the middle of the hilly, green hiking area of Asturias. Here you sleep in Egyptian cotton, get homemade sourdough bread and delicacies from the region for breakfast and if you want a multi-course menu for dinner. Dave and Javier are perfect, delightful hosts. The rooms are so tastefully decorated that they deserve a place in architectural digest. Actually el gran sueno is an insider tip that you whisper to your dearest friends but I treat everyone to this experience in one of the most beautiful regions of Spain!

Asturias dreamland!

El Gran Sueño is an elegantly comfortable hotel in pastoral surroundings. The hosts are superb and the meals were delicious. This was a highlight of our Asturias adventure. We will be dreaming of this experience for a long time and can highly recommend it to those seeking peace and pampering!

A very enjoyable place to discover the Asturias

We had a very nice three day stay between Christmas and New Year's eve ; the place is very confortable, and well located. We had breakfasts and a very enjoyable dinner. Our hosts, Javier and Dave, paid much attention to our needs and confort. Their new website gives a lot of useful information to discover the surroundings and find good spots to have dinner or lunch. We will definitely come back soon if we can.

Very special hotel with the best hosts. Nature, tranquility and excellent food.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Gran Sueño. The hotel is beautiful, the room is spacious, the beds and pillows are very comfortable and, above all, the hosts Javier and Dave, who could not be more attentive and kind.
I recommend dining at the hotel at least one night to try Dave's cooking. He is an exceptional cook, he takes care of everything in detail. From the bread he makes himself to the rice pudding, everything is exquisite. It is evident that he takes great care of the raw materials and uses local products.
The environment has many possibilities. We have done hiking routes leaving from the same hotel, another beautiful route along cliffs taking the car 30 minutes away and we have also visited beautiful towns in the area. We have many things pending for the next visit (Oviedo, Gijón or even Picos de Europa).
In short, an ideal place to disconnect from the city, reconnect with nature and eat wonderfully. Just what we were looking for. And as a gift we took a few of Dave's recipes :)

Lovely, remote Asturias

The rave reviews led us to this lovely inn. It ended up being our best stay in our visit to northern Spain. It is a remote location, which adds to the charm. There are many walks you can take from the inn. The walks are in beautiful countryside dotted with houses, cow pastures and small farm plots. You walk through the tiniest hamlets imaginable. A short drive brings you to some lovely small towns and a park surrounding a mountain stream.
We had breakfasts and dinners for our 3 nights there. Dave's cooking is sublime.
