Location wise, it's a long walk to the 'main tourist attractions' of Colombo.

When I went to book this hotel, there was only one option available: to prepay for instant confirmation. I completed this payment, but upon arriving at the hotel, I was told that they do not have a bank account and do not accept bank payments. They refused to honor my paid booking and instead argued with me, asking for cash. The manager provided the worst service, and I was unable to reach the owner's phone number.
I strongly recommend against booking a prepaid option for this hotel; they are fraudulent.

I showed up and they told me I hadn’t booked. I showed them my hotels.com confirmation email and receipt. They said they never received the payment even though I had the receipt. They then made me pay for a full room which ended up costing more than what the room I booked online was. I also had bed bugs bite my legs during the stay.

We booked a room in Thambili Island because of good reviews. Sadly, we were completely disapointed, since in our room there was an intensive smell of mold (maybe because the room had no window and a not-working A/C). The room was far away from that on the online pictures. We were shown another room with similar conditions - not so bad as the first one - but enough to let us search another accomodation in Colombo.

DO NOT STAY HERE. First of all there is construction-constant loud banging and sawing starting at 8 AM. The bigger problem is the dishonest staff though. I booked the room rate for breakfast and asked for breakfast. They said it wasn't included in my room rate. I showed them on the hotels.com site that it was. They said unless hotels.com would call them they would not give me breakfast. So I wasted my time having hotels.com call them. Hotels.com did call to verify that yes my rate includes breakfast. They still refused to give it to me and said just "we don't do that." Yeah this place is cheap and could be fine otherwise, but in 50+ countries I've never had a hotel or a hostel just be flat out jerks that way.
