Good Hotel

The hotel is very beautiful, I stayed there for two nights with no complaint, comfortable and one of the best hotels in Dili. The rooms are clean and overlook the garden and swimming pool. The breakfast is good, and there is another restaurant by the sea, and sitting there is very enjoyable. The reception staff are very nice. The only problem is Wi-Fi you have to reconnect every time you leave the room to the reception or restaurant . I recommend staying there.

Lovely vintage building with Portuguese influence

The service was exceptional, the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Hotel is an older vintage building looking its age in some places. Breakfast was phenomenal with your own egg chef . Pool could do with a revamp as showing its age. Disappointed the bar side pool was not operational during our stay as we would have taken advantage of that. Otherwise totally recommended.

Nothing good to say

No smiles greeted us. Bland faces without welcome. We were shown to our room by a happy concierge no doubt hoping for a tip. Which he got. Our room was tired and in dire need of a refurbishment. Cracked tiles and peeling paint. Musty mould creeping up the walls just above shirting board level. The Aircon works - just! The TV hung forlornly on its fitting looking at the floor. It doesn’t matter to us as there are no English language channels anyway. A good size king bed. Not sure what the mattress is made of. It certainly had no springs in it and is akin to sleeping on a table. At least no chance of roll-together! Bath towels only marginally bigger than a face cloth were worn and smelled dank. The minibar was empty but it did try and cool our water just a bit.
But worst of all is the breakfast buffet. There were about 8 chaffing dishes with a variety of hot food in them. But they were not ever lit or working so all the food was at ambient temperature. The fact that a napkin had been wrapped around the lid handle was just a nod to an illusion. Conversely the food that was supposed to be cold - cheese, yoghurt, fruits, salad etc - just left out on the table top in a warm room where it dried out and curled at the edges. Coffee was an old fashioned cona style and disgusting. Such a shame in a country that grows and exports great coffee. And the staff - they stand back and watch with a blank look on their faces making no effort to be of any service whatsoever. The restaurant is virtually empty (as regular residents know better than to stay on a breakfast inclusive rate) and there were 7 staff watching us enjoy juice and toast (no spreads available) because that was all we dared eat in case Timor Tummy attacked.
The internet is intermittent and when it does work is painfully slow.
We are seasoned 3rd world travelers but when faced with a room rate of US$200 a night we expected something better. 4 star no chance. 2 potentially but at a struggle.
Don’t be fooled by the photos. A wide angle lens can make any pool area look spacious and inviting. It’s not.
I honestly have nothing good to say about this hotel - oh, and it’s not a resort and it doesn’t have a spa.

It's one level below the most luxurious hotel in Timor Leste

The location is not that perfect, since the hotel is quite far from other cities' main attraction. But, overall the service is good, the receptions are very much helpful, and the food is also enough. The wifi did not work with my phone.

Oasis!

We returned from Atauro and were so pleased to arrive at this Oasis ... cool air, welcome drink, and a lovely shaded pool.
The hotel is located well too, right by the market, the ocean and the supermarket.
