I loved room 402, which looks over the pool and courtyard. The outdoor areas are so beautiful, and the location is perfect for everything in the historic district.
One tip to the traveler: If you drink as much water as I do, they have a fantastic filtered water machine with their hallway ice machine.
However, you have to put your hand over the sensor to get the best service out of it; it doesn’t seem to recognize the glass or the bucket. The front desk told me that tip when I called, and I stayed hydrated because of it.

The hotel was even better than pictured. The beautifully preserved history with new modern finishes was the perfect Charleston feel for this family trip. We are already looking forward to our next trip. Staff was so polite and helpful. Our waitress in the restaurant Maddy mad sure we had the most perfect first night of our trip. We ran into the hotel from a fast moving thunderstorm and were swiftly placed at one of her tables. She was wonderful to my children and took immediate genuine interest in their excitement for our trip. When discussing our plans and asking for her favorite local places she went above and beyond. At the end of dinner she brought an order ticket to us with a list of places to take the kids, have brunch, best sweet treats and coffee, sights to see and places to shop. It took so much stress off of me searching and googling to give my family options. We went right to Maddy’s list daily to pick our plans. The chef at the restaurant also must have the highest standards and hospitality! A bit of our meal was delayed, honestly not even an issue because we were enjoying our time, but he sent out the tuna tartare on him and did not bill us for our salad that was a bit behind our meals. Every bit of food we ate was perfection and we ended our first night feeling as if we picked the most perfect place to spend the week.

Beautiful looking and clean, but what good was that when I was absolutely freezing the whole time! The air conditioning was on full blast, so I couldn't relax at the café nor in the various sitting areas. I just hung around outside in the rain. Moreover, the service at the reception wasn't great: they didn't provide the WiFi password; I had to ask for it. When I asked them for a map of the city and if they could recommend a bus tour, they were somehow sarcastic and ridiculed me, as if that type of thing was no longer done (I was made to feel old, but didn't want to use my data, so preferred a paper map). As a result, I walked around town without a map and then later found out that I had missed a whole section of the city! I sure wish I had gone on a tour!

The whole property is lovely, the cafe and restaurant have delicious food and competent servers. Ample menu and easy to get a table. Beds comfortable. Front desk staff friendly and helpful, seemed a bit stressed during busiest part of the day.
Mihir and Aldain at the pool area were very hospitable and took good care of us.
For the amount spent, would have loved the pool to be heated and a hot tub. The pool area women's bathroom faucet wasnt working. Wish they would add some spa services too!
Overrall lovely stay and great location.
