Expected better

First week of Nov visited. Not clean & worn down. They did not even try. The room had clean bedding, but had not been vacuumed. This was evident by the dry cat food and pieces of empty snack bag by the chair. The towels were frayed at the ends and stained. Tub was not clean. Dining area vents were black from dust and soot.
Lobby and stairs had dirty floors and worn carpet.Breakfast was okay, but the employee hovered over people watching them like hawks.
In addition I did not expect the free break to have a tip box. This is in poor taste.
Other people gave good reviews, but I don't see how they got them.
Not clean despite Priceline reviews of saying they were clean.
Even though this is a budget motel, I expected better.

Should've known better. Then, I saw the dreaded sign that said...Country Inn & Suites by Radisson this location is independently owned and operated.
We tried. Got keys went to room. Before entering room, smell weed, and dogs start barking from multiple rooms. The comforter on the bed was lumpy and did not look clean. Everything was old, broken, and dirty. The toilet didn't flush. I didn't even want to put my bag down. I quickly booked a room elsewhere. Went down to the lobby told them the issues, they said they would switch our room, and I said no. Told him we wanted a refund and would not stay there.
Do not stay here. I should clarify. If you don't mind dirty hotels, like to smoke weed, have your barky dogs with you, and enjoy living in squalor stay here. Bonus, they have free breakfast. I'm sure their kitchen is as clean as their rooms. I wouldn't eat there unless I was looking to get dysentery.

The fan in the bathroom had no cover and was rusted! Very loud. Did not take a shower because the shower and tub had issues. Plaster to cover a hole on the bottom of the tub was unappealing!

We were in town for a volleyball tournament- as in, our daughter played the sport for the weekend. The man at the front desk was super kind and polite. So kind. When we got to our room, it was, well, a hotel room that needs significant updating. Rips in the curtains, dust piled for probably years behind the nightstand, just kinda eww. And, no towels in sight in the bathroom- not even a hand towel to dry hands after washing them. Also, the toilet wouldn’t work. So, I contacted the front desk & the kind man came up. He fixed the toilet in the spot himself-tools and all. He said he’d bring towels “when they got there”. And hour later we received two bath mats, I’m pretty sure. My daughter was less than thrilled. We rested fine - she was exhausted from volleyball & I took cold medicine. We decided to not even look toward the breakfast in the AM.

Very basic, gave me two small towels for shower and room as clean but stains were present on bed and furniture.
