Charming, private room with a balcony, coffee pot, fridge and a toaster. Bed was comfortable. Will stay there again!

Better than expected

Cute and spacious apartment above the garage in a quiet neighborhood that was close to absolutely everything we wanted to see/do. Shower is a little small but again, it's over a garage. Bed and furniture was comfortable and owner was hospitable.

A Quiet Oasis

This is a true oasis for the tired traveler.
We stayed in the Pine Lodge, and it was comfortable, quiet, and extremely clean. The decor was fun to look at, and nicely put together. It made us feel that we had stopped traveling for the moment and that we were in a restful cabin.
The few trains that we heard from a distance during the night across the river provided a nice ambience, and we liked listening to them.
Our main reason for staying in the area was to travel to the Field of Dreams the next day. It was conveniently located. Less than an hour away.
We were completing our journey through the Lower 48, and Iowa was one of the last states. Should we ever return to Iowa, we would stay there again.
