Check in was brief and very efficient. When I arrived at my room it was clean and in order and the furnishings were up to date.

Stay did not meet our expectations! The rooms need a much needed upgrade. We encountered a very unpleasant situation where it required calls to the front desk after a disturbance. Was not pleased how management handled our situation and came off very judgmental.

The DoubleTree did not disappoint. We booked a grear corner room with Hotels.com and they even had the description that said it was 15% bigger and it was!! This was in Schaumburg Il close to Woodfield Mall. It was like being in a wedding suite room. King bed, great shower pressure. You could tell that this was still old school plumbing before they put all the restrictions to water pressure in that make new hotel showers only have a dribble for a shower. The only negative, was that we thought breakfast was included and saw the sign too late that it was a $15.00 buffet, that added to the final price. The hotel lobby was nice and there was a bar there. I also just wish you could use the electronic key option if you booked with Hilton.

Dire need of an update and towel hooks!

This property is in need of an update. The bathroom is very dated and have old step-in tubs. We were here for my wife's surgery follow up and needed a zero entry shower. After checking in, we requested a handicap room to get the zero entry shower. The clerk had to try twice as the first room did not have the zero entry shower. The bathroom is large but lacks any counter space. The only sink is a wall-mounted what seemed to be a public restroom sink. There was no counter space at all. Whether it is local codes or what, but there was plenty of room for at least a makeup counter near the commode. But, most amazing, is that there were no towel hooks at all in the bathroom. None. Nadda. ZERO! We had to resort to hanging toiletry bags on the artwork and used towels on shower faucets.
We asked the front desk for a shower chair and was told that they would request from housekeeping. We had to request again in the morning and it took 45 minutes for it to arrive.
The restaurant and bar was closed on weekends. We arrived on Super Bowl Sunday and want to unwind watching the game.
The staff was adequate but not outgoing or went above or beyond expected.
As diamond member, I was very disappointed in this DoubleTree as I expected much more.

Hotel was in a good location and pretty affordable for last minute reservations, my only issue was that the hotel is clearly dated and one of our rooms still needed the bathroom tub to be cleaned when we arrived (which they cleaned) . Not a bad hotel for a family of four if you just need a bed and don't plan on spending a lot of time in yiur room.
