Trivandrum International Airport has two passenger terminals providing both international and domestic flights. Terminal 1 is primarily reserved for domestic flights, while Terminal 2 is predominantly used for international flights. There are also plans underway to construct an additional passenger terminal at the airport which would boost its capacity – the new terminal is on course to be completed by 2021.

Terminal 2 is home to the majority of Trivandrum International Airport's facilities and amenities including duty free shopping and a selection of cafés and eateries. Terminals 1 and 2 are separated by a considerable distance, so any passengers needing to transfer between terminals are best off taking a taxi which takes around 10 minutes. Transportation to central Thiruvananthapuram from Trivandrum International Airport is possible either by public bus to East Fort bus station or by taxi, which can be arranged at the taxi counter in the Arrivals hall.
